The Best Antidote To Bad Weather Is A Strong…Color Scheme

I am up early and hoping for some Florida Friday Sun . Enough all ready with the rain. I learned long ago in a land far away ; a God less , barren , unforgiving place they call the Ohio Valley (okay , slight exaggeration ) , that I suffered from S.A.D.  Seasonal Depression Disorder is a real bummer , and can’t completely be cured with a full color spectrum light bulb and a good stiff belt of Scotch.

Yes , here it is summer in Florida , and I am getting a good case of the “winter blues”. So I am now in full scale combat mode , my weapon of choice  as always : COLOR. When  I was an Interior Designer on the front lines in the North , it was rather uninspiring to look around at all the gloomy grey skies and then go into your studio to create fabulous homes. I learned that the antidote is strong brilliant hues!  Tantalizing Turquoise , Enchanting Emerald Green , Red Hot Red , Flamingo Pink , Pop Your Eyes Out Purple ! They are colors that make me feel the sun on my skin , without the vitamin D. These are happy , happy colors that make us smile , feel Tropical and say , ” This way to the Pina Coladas.” It makes you want to dance Salsa with a Latino lover.

I will be coming around to your homes giving you all a little injection of the CURE. This will be in the form of a pillow in a bright , knock- you -on -your- butt shade of Op Art Orange or Yahoo Yellow . Something that will fill the room with a strong noticeable presence , like a teeny square Sun.

No thanks are needed , and if you protest , I know it is only the S.A. D. in you speaking so that will make me leave two more of my psychedelic pillows for good measure. So join me in banishing the blues ! One Carnival Color at a time! Happy Weekend , may some Sun shine down upon all of us!
